Luis Batalha - Director

Luis Batalha

Luis founded batallion legal. He has over 20 years' legal experience. His focus is on commercial, property, tax and superannuation law. Luis has experience:

helping developers with property purchases and sales;
helping small businesses, including franchisees and education agencies, with their legal affairs;
assisting clients with agreements and deeds, including services, licensing, loan, partnership and shareholders agreements and all types of trust deeds;
assisting SMEs with their set up, leasing of premises and ordinary legal issues;
assisting SMSFs with the legal documents to borrow money to buy property; and
advising on all aspects of stamp duty, GST, CGT, FBT, payroll tax, land tax and international tax issues faced by individuals and all businesses, great and small.

Luis is widely published and has spoken at conferences organised by the ATMA, NSW Law Society, the Institute of Public Accountants, the University of Technology, Sydney and the Taxation Institute of Australia. Luis holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Laws degree, with First Class Honours, from the University of Sydney. Luis speaks Portuguese and has a growing Brazilian client base. Luis is on the executive committee of an educational college.

Wilson Lee - Director

Wilson Lee

Wilson has a wealth of experience advising businesses and individuals on accounting, income tax, FBT, GST, PAYG and payroll tax. Wilson helps clients with:

tax returns, business activity statements and instalment activity statements;
preparation of financial statements and tax returns of SMSFs;
due diligence, budgeting and cash flow forecasting and management;
management reports for business planning and strategy development;
accounting report preparation, including compliance with International Accounting Standards; and
training and development on various accounting software packages, including Xero, Saasu, Wave, MYOB and Quickbooks.

Wilson has gained experience with global financial institutions and a Big 4 accounting firm providing business and tax advisory services. Wilson holds Bachelors degrees in Commerce and Laws, from the University of Western Sydney. He is a registered tax agent and a Chartered Accountant. Wilson speaks Teo Chiew.

Stephen Ooi - Lawyer

Stephen Ooi

Stephen practises in corporate, trusts and superannuation law. His clients include charities, trustees and SMSFs. He has experience:

advising trustees on all aspects of trust law, including removing beneficiaries as foreign persons and changing trustees of trusts;
drafting constitutions for not for profit organisations, public companies and companies limited by guarantee including ensuring compliance with ACNC requirements and obtaining tax exempt and deductible gift recipient status;
advising on the residency of superannuation funds; and
assisting buyers and sellers with property purchases and settlements.
